Biography: Mahita Devi

MFA creative writing. I am drawn to hybridity–cross genre–the fusing together of creative non-fiction with fiction, poetry, art, recipes, diary snippets–whatever demands to show up on the page. My spiritual path is like that too–a collage–an elixir of ideas, practices, and all my studies. The boundaries are smudged and I find myself trespassing into unusual places. I like the UNEXPECTED. I have worked hard at finding a path that fits neatly under one umbrella–contained. I’ve given up. I have roots in many circles. I am fascinated by trees—family trees, world trees, the 8 limbs of Yoga. I am passionate about Yoga, Family Stories, Travel/Wandering, Poetry, Art, Genealogy, Native American Studies, Shamanic Studies, Alternative Healing, Goddess Studies, Mythology, and Folklore.
