Biography: Sunimal Alles

Born in 1950 in Sri Lanka. Could not understand why there were so many religions and philosophies. Started seeing people struggling and suffering in 1965. Started professional career in 1975 by starting to assist people live better lives. Started research to determine the blockages that prevent people living meaningfully and joyfully in 1986. Found that it was because people did not know the true purpose of their lives and were living mediocre lives as they had not been able, had been prevented or coerced not to Identify and transform their Natural Talents/Strengths (Thoughts, Will/Drive/Entrepreneurial/Leadership traits and skills), where they can be creative, to be their primary profession/activity in life. Designed a program to overcome the above, wrote an article of the program (was published in the UN Development forum in 1988) and started implementing it to correct this imbalance through Talents Identification and Development Programs in Niger in 1989. Worked with communities in DR Congo to establish Advisory Centers for Better Living (ACBL) to offer a package of services and have access to loans for populations affected by war/natural disasters in 2003. Established a first TIDY (Talents Identification and Development Center) in Sri Lanka in 2004, to research further the challenges faced by human beings and to offer guidance. Found that in addition to the challenges they faced to know their purpose and profession, people did not know from where they came from, what belief system or philosophy was right for them.
