Biography: Ashie Shahenool hirji

Ashie S. Hirji is a technology Activist, Visionary and Social Entrepreneur. She is the CEO and founder of Heart In Action Enterprises a new media social enterprise. For the last 6 years she has been finding a solution for end user security. In 2009 she spoke with several tech companies to support her vision and work and she is pioneering the push of secured multimedia communication solution globally for end user protection. Her journey began,in 2002 when North American university students approached Ashie to assist & sponsor them to get to Africa . These students taught in 12 schools in Tanzania & Kenya about HIV/Aids,curriculum to youth and students in Africa. She hosted her first campaign in Vancouver in 2004 and invited Alliance for a New Humanity to partner with her organization.. She was then invited at the Alliance for a New Humanity "Human Forum" in 2004 to showcase her work, vision and here beta platform she connected many young leaders & students from Africa over her platform at the Human Forum. She developed a multimedia portal in partnership with Alliance for the New Humanity - and in 2006 her work and vision was sabottaged and she took a financial loss soon after that. Her Journey Began with an idea in 2003. The major issue I realized when I helped the students was high cost of internet in Africa Ashie started to actively pursue why the internet was a major issue and so costly in Africa. The Digital Divide is still a major factor that prohibits families and youth in developing countries from enjoying the occupational and educational advantages available over the internet in a safe secured environment As the demand and dependency on information technology increases in our everyday lives, the greater this divide is felt. Her organization empowers, supports and provides the platform to youth & women globally. Inspite of financial challenges she faced - she kept building the vision and never gave up her fight to bring a solution for developing countries.
