Biography: Anandi Premlall

Anandi Premlall is an authentic leader, a great connector and outstanding nurturer of relationships and collaborations for worthy causes and organizations. Whether she is producing events, designing murals, editing manuscripts, managing projects or volunteering, her commitment and dedication to quality and a positive attitude speaks for itself. Ms. Premlall is an exemplary model of walking the talk. She won the World of Good & eBay Eco SuperHero Contest in April 2010. She was interviewed for Green America’s National Green Pages 2009 on how she healed her home. She was featured as a special guest on Let's Talk with Lakshmee's Going Green episode on Time Warner Cable. Ms. Premlall indulges in a life of international veg*an cooking for over 17 years, natural health and healing, ayurveda, yoga, meditation, intensati, promoting sustainable-organic-local-ethical practices and social consciousness worldwide. Ms. Premlall holds a BA with dual majors in English with a concentration in Writing and Studio Art from Hunter College, City University of New York. While she was Managing Editor of The Olivetree Review, she orchestrated the first themed and full color journal since the creation of Hunter's Literary & Art Journal, including multi-media reading nights with honored guests. Outside of her work and entrepreneurial endeavors, Ms. Premlall dedicates much of her time to giving back to the community through the arts, advocacy, education and environmental stewardship. Ms. Premlall organized and lead Earth Day New York's first Nurturing Nature Program on Labor Day 2008 to bring Queens residents out to Forest Park for tree stewarding in partnership with the MillionTreesNYC initiative which was covered by both NY1 & Ridgewood Times. She organized monthly urban forest outings from April to November. She also helped to facilitate the planting of the first public orchard on Randall's Island with Green Apple Cleaners. Ms. Premlall has a strong background in creating social change, inspiring environmental awareness and innovation.
