Bob EllalBeachgirl,
I realize that I project myself as a total skeptic but that is not the case. I have a Beachgirl,
I realize that I project myself as a total skeptic but that is not the case. I have a strong metaphysical bent and great hopes that at least some aspects of ourselves continue after death. It's a hope. But what bothers me is when people, some on this site and others I've met in person, assume the supercilious attitude that they are somehow at a higher spiritual level than the rest of us. Typically when asked tough questions about their metaphysical paradigms they retreat into the hubris, telling one to "look deeper." Or, as in Voltaire's observation, retreat into jargon, platitudes and fuzzy metaphors that sound impressive but when examined are meaningless. I'm against pomposity. Especially my own!
Great to have you back. Love on ya.

Michael PruesHi Bob, All,
It's me again, the naive pretentious charlatan and I'm ok with whatever your perceptioHi Bob, All,
It's me again, the naive pretentious charlatan and I'm ok with whatever your perceptions are of me, because they're just perceptions!
You guys are very intelligent and I understand the need for critical thought and proof. However, the support, love and the feeling of belonging you provide each other, demonstrates the invisible tether that holds everything together and what allows for us to manifest -consciousness. Consciousness is God and the ground for all being. But only you can enlighten your ethos through further investigation. I can't imbue my knowledge of quantum mechanics and why it scientifically validates the transcendent (non-local) and immanent (local) exist in our consciousness. Consciousness is both the hammer and the anvil. You can lead a horse to water, but...(I'm not calling you asses lol)
Skeptics usually come from the materialistic upward causation of viewing the universe. That we are made of particles, that make atoms, that make molecules, that make cells and neurons, that make the body and brain, that make consciousness. Science has proven it works the other way around in a downward causation. Life and consciousness create the universe. Our perceived individual subjective consciousness emanates from universal consciousness. Awareness and knowledge are the levers that control the gradients of consciousness.
Again, what I espouse is true for me and has brought me much peace. I wish bad things didn't happen, but that is why each of us has to be accountable for our actions and reactions. Only through education and understanding can we change our behavior and the behavior on the planet.
Love,

'Til then I think it is important to keep oneself grounded in 'what is' and in common sense. logic and within the bounds of universal law ( nature ) and cause and effect. If there is something beyond that then let it reveal itself - until then, we can surmise and philosophize 'til the cows come home and it leads nowhere. Imagination and wishful thinking should always be tempered by logic and proof which stops me from going mad in the head and totally woo woo as mentioned on this site :)
Everyday I catch hold of this awareness that is not dependent on anything else including life as we know it .. that is the only philosophy I have so far that keeps me from being a total disbeliever.. not being a 'something' one cannot prove it .. that is the single thread that I hold on to - there are days when it is not enough :(
