Biography: Mel S

 Me?   The first labels that come to mind was my age (30), that I'm a Gemini, that I'm married, that I have a cat and two dogs.   That bothers me a little because I really see myself as a life-long learner, a nature lover, reiki level II,  quasi-buddhist, knitting, dancing, singing, guitar-playing kind of gal.    I guess who I really am is someone who is trying (not always succeeding) in living life with integrity and intention.  And I guess I want to have that be the first thing that comes to mind when I'm asked about myself.   I want to grow spiritually and have been starving for new people with whom to share beliefs.     While I focus on that type of spiritual and personal growth, I live with my husband and a circus of animals: two dogs, a cat, and on any given day one to three additional dog friends. I spend most of my time working with dogs that need socialization, training, or other rehabilitation. When life hasn't gone to the dogs, I can be found writing blog posts, dog training articles, advice columns, poetry, short stories, and my bi-monthly contribution to Exhale Magazine.   My column "Not-So-Delicate Condition" explores reconciliation with infertility and Major Depression Disorder.
