In terms of finding people to speak or about...I'm sure half of the people who are on your Dad's radio show alone! I love listening to the podcasts of his radio shows etc that you all have up on here...such a beautiful sangha or satsang for me! I've learnt so much from them! I'm waiting for you all to put up some more...one of the last ones I listened to was with Nipun Mehta- Karma Kitchen.
Also listening to him on those shows etc...he comes across as such a lovely and humble man it really dispels all 'the other talk' I sometimes hear out there and even here on Intent about him. To me his real self comes over in these talks although I obviously don't know him personally or have never 'met' him in real. And if it wasn't for Intent or the internet being how it is as a whole today I'd have not been able to share in it! Again such a beautiful sangha or satsang! :)
Personally last year I was involved in candle4tibet that started off I think on Ning but really spread on Facebook and is still housed on Ning. I got involved in it through Facebook and joined Ning later only to have a profile on the official page but mostly am a Facebooker not a Ninger so to speak! :) But yep saw how that cause spread...
I took part in Blog Action Day last wk and I think I got a bit off track and long winded...wanted to say so much...I think was the thing...or it was such a complex issue in my mind...but interestingly I think I've been or was grappling with this same issue...when I saw it as some parts of the world transitioning post their industrial revolutions (the dirty Dickensian days) to mandatory safe working conditions to sustainable development then to corporate social responsibility and then to social entrepreneurship...think in the end we might all want to go back to the Garden of Eden or Paanchvati of the Ramayan...i.e. live the simple life...hammock by a river playing with the animals but till we get there...here I was grappling with the burden of all these causes, my carbon footrprint vs. Bigfoot! :) http://meadysmusings.blogspot.com/2009/10/blog-action-day-2009-climate-change.html
Keep up the great work! See more
