Biography: Kerry Candaele

Born in Vancouver, Canada, Kerry Candaele grew up in Lompoc, a small working-class town on the central coast of California. After attending the University of California at Santa Barbara, and Columbia University--where he was a Richard Hofstader Fellow in U.S. history--Kerry taught history and politics at Marymount Manhattan College, Occidental College, and Cal State Dominguez Hills in California. He has worked all over the world with the Los Angeles-based NGO Democracy Council. He is the author of two books on U.S. history and various articles in both scholarly and popular journals. He is now at work on a film about Beethoven's Ninth Symphony called Following The Ninth (www.followingtheninth.com)
