SOCIAL MEDIA & OUTREACH INTERN

Job Type & Location: Full-time, paid internship or part-time, unpaid internship; Santa Monica

Description: We're looking for an individual who wants to utilize his/her new media skills for good as well as gain. At Intent, you will be a full-time collaborator, engaging directly with our content, social media outlets, contributors and community. To apply, send your resume and a cover to intern@intent.com. Compensation: $800/mo stipend for full-time internship with a minimum commitment of 3 months; School credit for part-time internship. College students and recent graduates encouraged to apply Parking costs reimbursed; occasional event tickets.

Responsibilities:
* Represent Intent to community sites; engage the Intent community
* Participate on other blogs in the wellness space
* Utilize Facebook, Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Kirsty and others for outreach
* General office organization and communication assistance

Qualifications:
* Tech savvy - familiar and comfortable using social networking sites, interacting with blogs and forum
*  Understanding of new media, online traffic and SEO
* Strong online research skills and ability to analyze information and make recommendations
* Work experience in an office environment
* Adept at multitasking and handling details
* Interest in personal development, social cause or environmental issues a plus
 

WEB DEVELOPER INTERN

Job Type & Location: Full-time, stipened internship with a 3-month commitment; Santa Monica

Compensation: $800/month stipend; parking costs reimbursed.

Responsibilities:
* Researching potential new technologies to provide detailed analysis and recommendations
* Deploy potential new technologies related to website management
* Development of new site features to support our growing community needs(writing and testing new    code)
* Bug testing and tracking, following up with QA team to understand and clarify site/code problems
* Reading, understanding and adhering to technological standards and APIs

Qualifications & Requirements:
* Tech savvy - familiar and comfortable using social networking sites and content management
   system
* Experience with programming languages(PHP preferred but not necessary or required)
* Familiarity with HTML/XHTML and Javascript
* Desire to understand and follow coding standards
* Strong communication, writing and editing skills
* Strong ability to multitask and handle details
* Interest in personal development, social cause or environmental issues a plus
