Biography: Carey Peters

How did I go from junk-food junkie to health junkie? Even I'm not entirely sure....if someone had told me four years ago I'd be interested in glycemic loads, auyurveda and spirulina, I would have laughed in their face. And then smacked them. I'm the gal who walked into Whole Foods ten years ago and thought the store sucked because they didn't carry Diet Coke. I’m the gal who ate a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie FroYo every single night. I’m the gal who bought Kraft Mac N’Cheese (it’s the cheesiest!) in BULK. So what the hell happened? I’d love to say I had a moment of clarity and decided to treat my body like a temple, but that would be a lie. The truth is I got so sick with horrible digestive problems that I was forced to change my junk-food junkie ways. And I didn’t do it willingly – I was kicking and screaming every step of the journey. Give up sugar?! Just kill me now!! I was the person who told my sister to shoot me in the head if I become diabetic and have to stop taking my favorite drug! Funny how things have changed. Four years, four lost clothing sizes, thousands of research hours, tens of thousands of dollars, one degree, one certification, and hundreds of nutrition clients later, it's my mission to help my clients lose weight, improve their digestion, learn which foods are best for them and to feel amazing in every area of their lives. I’m a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) 2005-2006 Professional Training Program in New York City and a Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach. I have a private practice in Los Angeles, California. I’ve taught workshops at Google, DePaul University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Crunch Fitness, Hipcooks, Agape Spiritual Center, Wild Oats Market and Whole Foods Market. My articles have been published on www.ladieswholaunch.com and http:// bizme.biz. I'm also the creator of an online Resource Center for Nutrition, Health and Wellness Coaches and Counselors, called www.CoachToolsToGo.com. It is THE forum for nutrition and wellness coaches to buy, sell and share resources. CoachTools compiles all the marketing materials and business building tools you need to grow a nutrition coaching practice quickly and efficiently. Off to drink greens and alkalized water....:-)
